Anwar Says Malaysia Competitiveness Gains Show Reform Progress

Malaysia rise to 15th place in the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2026 has been described by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as evidence that reform efforts are bearing fruit.

Sin Chew Daily reported that Malaysia improved by eight positions compared with the previous year.

Anwar said the result reflects better government efficiency, stronger implementation and a more stable political and investment climate.

The ranking boost may strengthen Malaysia profile among regional investors, but continued policy delivery will be key to turning the recognition into wider economic gains.
